We're all facing a major disruption in our regular routine, and chances are you've probably been coping by remaining glued to your smartphone screen (like me). Well, don't worry: there's more helpful ways you can use your device to stay entertained under quarantine.
Many apps and platforms have started making some of their resources freely available for everyone to use as we weather this pandemic as a global community. Here are a few of our picks to stay entertained and maybe, even learn a new skill or two!
Audible for Kids
Audiobook app and website Audible has made a bunch of books free for all young children and preteens currently staying home from school. No credit card or payment info required, just go here and make story time a little more interesting!
Scribd
New members will receive access to thousands of e-books and audiobooks free for 30 days after signing up. This one does require your credit card information, but you can cancel any time before the trial is up to avoid being charged.
Coursera
One of the most well-known online learning platforms, Coursera compiled a list of online courses currently available for free. Learn a little art history, maybe some photography basics or even take a mindfulness course!
Calm
Meditation app Calm has made some soothing guided meditation resources free here, and there's no sign up or downloading required. If you've been feeling on edge these past few days, just pop in your headphones, go to your quiet place and let yourself be guided towards peace and calm.
