Fall/ Winter 2019-2020 Handbag Trends
As Miranda Priestley flawlessly demonstrated, runway fashion trends have a major impact on what everyone wears. Even a fashion phobe can’t escape their influence as the ideas trickle down from shows in Paris and Milan to local retailers. However, for those of us who enjoy fashion and love to stay updated on the season’s offerings, I have compiled a list of trends to warm our hearts through for Fall/Winter 2019-2020.
1. ANIMAL PRINT
Animal prints are timeless wardrobe-essentials. Cheetah and snake prints, in particular, have graced catwalks and adorned models for many seasons and they are coming back full-force this year. This rise of the jungle, goes in hand with the ‘70s retro vibes that are also making a comeback. For an affordable option, this Aldo snakeskin bag fits the bill! Furthermore, the yellow flap is just right for Instagram’s current neon craze.
2. BUCKET BAGS
The defining feature of buckets bags: they are deep, very slightly longer than they are wide, closed with usually a drawstring fastening, and may also have a clasp or a buckle, however, there is never a zipper. Bucket bags fit the boho-chic aesthetic perfectly or can be sporty. They can fit all your essentials and be easily worn or carried, which makes them winners in my book. The Lanvin would have made the most envy-worthy sports bag for P.E. when I was in school, but now I will settle for this classic grey Balenciaga.
3. BARREL BAGS
Fashion duffels are perfect for travelling. They have a gender-neutral look that makes them very modern and sophisticated. Perfect for pairing with some casual jeans or a well-tailored suit, this tan Epi leather Louis Vuitton Soufflot bag will stand out from the crowd for all the right reasons.
4. NEON BAGS
These bags are for the fearless! Neon colours are all the rage nowadays and it seems as if they will be jazzing up the traditionally more subdued fall/winter colour palette. If you do not want to risk causing colour blindness with a solid neon bag, go for a more traditional bright coloured one like this fuschia Ted Baker clutch or this deep pink Michael Kors jet set tote. They will perfectly off-set the all-black outfits we reach for in the colder months.
Let me know which trends you plan on embracing and which ones flopped for you!
